Casa Alianza Street Children Programmes
Casa Alianza provides a wide range of services to street children and homeless youth in Nicaragua, Honduras and Mexico.
Our carefully constructed "five phase programme", which starts by befriending children living on the street, leads children through the difficult transition from hopelessness to a life with potential and most importantly - hope. We then offer children the chance to rebuild their lives by moving into one of our residential programmes.
We also offer a wide range of specialist services to children. These include legal aid for children whose rights have been violated, support for young mothers on the street and family reintegration.
Our LUNA programme, an HIV / AIDS inititiave for street children in Mexico City, offers a unique and innovative approach to tackling the growing threat faced by street children who are particularly at risk of exploitation or who have to prostitute themselves simply to survive.
Gang membership and associated violence are also huge problems in Central America and we thus have an active programme to persuade children against joining.
