Casa Alianza Mothers & Babies Programme
Being a mother is a huge responsibility for anyone. When you are homeless and raising your kids on the street the challenge is immense.
Casa Alianza launched its "Mothers and Babies" to help the growing number of street girls with children. A large number of the girls have been the victims of sexual violence whilst others have turned to prostitution simply to survive on the streets.
The programme offers a range of rehabilitation services including therapy, child-care training, vocational learning and pediatric and gynaecological treatment.
The programme helps the girls bond with their children and learn how to care for them. It also provides the girls with an opportunity to develop life skills, learn a trade, work and save enough money to start to live independently.
