Street Children Benefit Concert - Gareth Davies-Jones

Gareth Davies Jones - A supporter of Casa Alianza's Street Children Programme

As part of his forthcoming UK Tour, Gareth has kindly agreed to do a special benefit concert for Casa Alianza who he has supported for a number of years.

A Christian singer-songwriter in the Bob Dylan, protest song tradition. He tackles questions like climate change, and the immoralities of the global economy but his tunes are so melodic and his voice so lyrical that you never feel preached at.

Gareth’s lyrics are intense, and the aims worthy, but he also has a style that you could relax to in the small hours, soothed by the mellow vocal tones and smooth guitar riffs.

Described stylistically as James Taylor meets Billy Bragg or Brian Kennedy meets Pete Seeger, Gareth has a crisp clear guitar style and a mature and memorable voice. From the big issues to the mundane he performs and entertains in the folk/acoustic tradition as well as using his music to support various organisations fighting for social justice such as Traidcraft, Asylum Aid and Casa Alianza.

Gareth’s song “Street” is dedicated to Casa Alianza to hear it please click here.

The Benefit Concert will be held on 11th May 2008. Doors 7.30 pm.
