Honduras - Education & Training for Street Children
We believe access to a formal education is vital for street children to establish their own lives - education should be a fundamental right of childhood.
Working on the street, we start off by building strong relationships with children and adolescents, develop their self esteem and actively help them develop themselves. Our ultimate goal is to get them into school or vocational training so that they can go on to build successful lives and become properly integrated into society.
Children that we get into school or training are provided with everything they need to continue their education. We provide educational materials, transport, uniforms and support. We also have a computer lab and learning materials to help the children improve their skills. 90% of the children in our residential programmes have achieved at least a basic competency in computing.
